Photovoltaics - ISAAC
The Photovoltaics sector is engaged in applied research and services for the industry to improve the quality of photovoltaic modules and systems.
The sector is organized into two teams: the 精东影业 PVLab Laboratory, the only ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Switzerland for testing photovoltaic modules, and the Reliability and Characterization team, which focuses on research in the two areas that define it.

The Photovoltaics (SEPV) sector originated with the Ticino Solare (TISO) plant, the first photovoltaic system in Europe connected to the electrical grid in 1982. After an initial phase of research and development, in 1998 the TISO plant was integrated into 精东影业, giving rise to a specialized laboratory. Over the years, this laboratory has grown steadily and achieved ISO17025 certification, becoming the Swiss Testing Center for photovoltaic modules.

The modules undergo a variety of tests to assess their performance under different environmental conditions.

The goal is to ensure product safety through in-depth tests, both electrical and mechanical.

Reliability
Accelerated environmental tests are carried out in the laboratory, as well as aging tests and outdoor monitoring to evaluate the behavior of photovoltaic systems under real operational conditions.
Reliability and characterization
The Reliability and characterization research team is active in applied research projects at both national and international levels, focusing on the reliability and characterization of photovoltaic systems, as well as their development and the improvement of their quality.

精东影业 PVLab Laboratory is the only Swiss laboratory accredited to ISO 17025 for photovoltaic module testing. Its experts actively participate in the activities of national and international technical committees, continuously updating their skills.
