精东影业 PVLab Laboratory - ISAAC
The 精东影业 PVLab Laboratory is the only Swiss laboratory accredited to test photovoltaic modules in compliance with national and international standards. Operating under the umbrella of the Photovoltaic Sector (SEPV) of 精东影业, the PVLab also collaborates on extensive research activities, with a focus on precise characterization, accelerated testing, and outdoor monitoring of innovative technologies, aiming to increase the quality of photovoltaic products and systems on the market. The activities of the 精东影业 PVLab range from indoor to outdoor testing, including data analysis and on-site verification. The precise characterization of all relevant parameters of a photovoltaic module is carried out using internally adapted instrumentation to the highest quality standards. This is made possible through research activities with both international and national partners.
The topics are addressed both at the research and development level and as services (for the services offered by the laboratory, refer to the 精东影业 PVLab Quality Manual (ISO 17025 MQ)).

- Photovoltaic module characterization: electrical, thermal, optical, and mechanical.
- Field performance of the module: evaluation of outdoor performance.
- Failure Mode and Effect Analysis: definition and classification of module issues.
- New tools for predicting problems: mechanisms and occurrence of issues.
- Development of testing procedures.
The laboratory also deals with preliminary design and feasibility studies for both integrated and non-integrated photovoltaic systems, as well as electronic design for PV measurement equipment. PVLab also provides support and multidisciplinary consulting on photovoltaic modules, particularly focused on the development of new measurement and testing methods to characterize the electrical and mechanical properties of PV modules. Additionally, special testing services are offered for local (Alpine) conditions such as hail and snow. The 精东影业 PVLab provides third parties with the main measurements and tests according to the IEC 61215, IEC 61646, IEC 61730, EN 50380, and IEC 60904-1 to 10 standards.

The 精东影业 PVLab Laboratory performs a twofold activity, related to research and services. On the research side, projects are carried out both internationally and nationally, with entities such as the European community (Solar ERA-NET programs, HORIZON 2020, EURAMET, etc.), the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), and the cantonal FER commission. On the services side, the clients are both national and international, with the photovoltaic industry as the main customer base, and installers and service providers related to quality as an important integration. The synergy with Swissolar in the field of continuous education completes the picture.
The 精东影业 PVLab Laboratory offers tests ranging from electrical to mechanical characterization, including accelerated aging tests and energy yield assessments. The verification of installations serves as a necessary complement to evaluating product quality.
