The ISAAC Institute is committed to promoting a zero-emission society driving the energy transition through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches. Our applied research activities focus on the characterization and reliability of photovoltaics (modules and systems), with an emphasis on their integration in buildings (BIPV) and other built systems (IPV), intelligent management of renewable energy in grids, and energy efficiency in buildings. We adopt a circular economy approach that valorises sustainable resources and materials, ensuring proper maintenance and preservation of the economic value of buildings.
Overview - ISAAC
We utilize innovative analysis and simulation tools, fully leveraging the opportunities offered by digitalization to develop cutting-edge solutions. Many of our projects involve the realization of real pilot buildings, which allow us to test and refine our technologies in concrete contexts, thus contributing to the development of scalableand replicable models.
The complexity of the energy transition also requires the adoption of more sustainable lifestyles. For this reason, we actively collaborate with local stakeholders and representatives of civil society, proposing innovative solutions that support conscious and environmentally respectful lifestyle choices.
Our Institute collaborates with an extensive network of partners, including Innosuisse, the Canton of Ticino through its various offices and resources, the HORIZON EUROPE program, SEFRI, and several foundations. These collaborations enable us to develop pioneering projects that contribute to the achievement of an effective and sustainable energy transition.
