Competence Centre for Innovation and Research on Education Systems (CIRSE)
Provides the scientific information needed to guide Ticino's education system. It draws up competitive research projects, scientific publications and organises academic events, thus positioning itself as a player in the scientific debate and teacher training.
Competence Centre for Mathematics Education (DDM)
In addition to the initial and continuing training of teachers of all school levels at the Department and in the local area, it develops numerous research, dissemination and service projects in the areas of mathematics education.
Competence Centre for School, Social and Educational Needs (BESS)
Active in the areas of specialised and inclusive pedagogy, with a focus on special educational needs and the application of the principles of inclusion, accessibility and participation in school, social and cultural life for everyone.
Competence Centre for the Teaching and Learning of Italian as a Language of Schooling (DILS)
Its activities include research and basic and continuous training in the teaching of Italian in the Canton of Ticino, with a focus on compulsory schooling.
Laboratory for Research on History of Education, Documentation, Preservation and Digitalisation (RDCD)
It is active in research in educational history, with a focus on material sources. The ambition is to bring together different professions - librarians, researchers - for a common valorisation and research project.
Laboratory media and MINT (MEM)
It is an observatory and centre for experimentation, research, training and dissemination on the topics of technology, digital media, and the didactics of MINT (mathematics, computer science, natural and technical sciences) in educational and school contexts.
