The activities of the Institute of Materials and Constructions are aimed at engineering and architectural offices, companies, industries and public bodies working in the field of building materials and cultural heritage.
The Institute is a point of reference for students and all professionals in the construction and materials science sector.
Study of structural mechanical behaviour to verify the safety of a structure.
Technology and durability
Study of building materials for their correct use.
Construction diagnostics
Diagnostic investigations to identify the causes of pathological phenomena in buildings and the definition of remedies.
Conservation and Restoration
Scientific advice and diagnostics in conservation and restoration projects.
In its services, the Institute covers a wide range of topics in the four areas of competence.
Continuing Education
The Institute's commitment to continuing education takes the form of around twenty courses each year, totalling 400-600 lecture hours and bringing an average of 500 participants and almost 6000 participant-hours.
The considerable development that Continuing Education activities have undergone over the years, and the consequent high number of courses, as well as the size of the Institute of Materials and Constructions in terms of dedicated human resources, have required that the training offer also be structured and directed towards long-term courses such as Advanced Study Courses (Certificate, Diploma and Master's) that cover the Institute's core activities.
