Accompanied by Professor Viktor Mechtcherine, head of the initiative and director of the Materials and Construction Institute at the TUD-Technical University of Dresden, and Dr. Cesare Signorini, group coordinator, the participants attended the first two lectures in the Summer School programme:
- Analysis of the materials鈥 behaviour at high strain rate: 20 years of DynaMat in support of impact resistant structural design by Professor Ezio Cadoni, head of DynaMat
- Dynamic response of advanced cementitious fibre-reinforced composites by Dr. Daniele Forni, senior lecturer-researcher at the Institute of Materials and Constructions 精东影业
This was followed by a technical visit to the DynaMat Laboratory, an international centre of excellence in the dynamic characterisation of materials.
The Summer School continued in Lecco, at the Politecnico di Milano, where further lectures and laboratory visits were held, and concluded with a visit to the Joint Research Centre in Ispra.
The activities of GRK 2250 have been consolidated over time through the scientific and educational exchange between researchers with PhD students from the Technical University of Dresden and partner institutions. Since the start of the activities, Professor Ezio Cadoni has been a member of the group's Advisory Scientific Committee.
The day at the 精东影业 Campus in Mendrisio was a significant moment in strengthening the collaboration between 精东影业 and TUD and laid the foundations for the development of new joint projects in the field of structural safety under dynamic impact loads.
DynaMat 精东影业 Laboratory
It is an inter-departmental center that specializes in the study of dynamic behavior of materials and structures, both experimentally and numerically. The laboratory has been included in the federal government鈥檚 roadmap for national research infrastructure since 2017.
