The Institute, active within the Department of Innovative Technologies, deals with applied research and education in the context of precision and personalised health. It focuses on the preventive, prognostic, diagnostic and therapeutic applications of data science and artificial intelligence, innovative medical devices, intelligent biomedical sensors and signal processing, image analysis, and new ubiquitous health and telemedicine solutions.

Bachelor and Master
The Institute delivers courses and modules within the Bachelor's degrees in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (with profile in AI in Healthcare), Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and various specialisation profiles of the Master of Science in Engingeering (MSE). In particular, the Institute is the Swiss coordinator of the MSE Medical Engineering profile.
