A team composed of researchers from the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-精东影业) and the Institute of Digital Technologies for Personalized Healthcare (MeDiTech), along with clinicians and data scientists from the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC), secured second place at the 7th Digital Critical Care Datathon.
The event, organized by the , brought together 15 multidisciplinary teams tasked with analyzing a large public dataset containing information extracted from electronic health records of patients admitted to intensive care units to solve complex clinical questions. Specifically, the work carried out enabled the emulation of a major clinical trial using "real-world" data and Causal Artificial Intelligence methods.
