DACD Materio library database

The Materioteca Database is a constantly evolving digital tool that collects information and technical data relating to a part of the physical heritage present in the Materioteca. It allows users to have a complete overview of what the materials market, related to the world of construction, has to offer today.

The catalysed products are described and categorised according to several parameters

  • the material class of origin
  • the use of the product,
  • the physico-chemical properties of the product,
  • secondary parameters (shapes, finishes, etc.).
In addition to the data related directly to the product, it is possible to know the location of the sample in space, as well as the number of elements present on site, weight and dimensions.
By using the various categorisations as a search filter, it is possible to group materials according to one's needs to obtain more extensive results.

The database is open and accessible to all.

Material Archiv

Eleven collections, one database.
Material-Archiv conveys material knowledge. Thanks to the close link between the physical sample collections and the materialarchiv.ch platform, information about materials, their processing and use is dynamically interconnected. In the future, users will be able to make the sample collections and the digital platform their own, in an interactive and cooperative manner.

ArTec

The ArTec database, an archive of the IUAV University of Venice, is the web tool that enables the search and use of information on the materials, products and systems contained in the physical archive.

Materioteca del PoliMi

The Materioteca of the Politecnico di Milano is an educational materials archive with more than 5000 material samples.
The collection of samples, classified and catalogued according to criteria useful for design, considers both engineering properties and expressive-sensorial characterisation.

Raumprobe / Material Bank

Since 2005 Raumprobe has been Stuttgart's leading online materials database and exhibition of physical materials.
It aims to inspire the creative use of materials through curated presentations: an interface between manufacturers and designers, combining expertise and creativity.

Schweizer Baumuster - Centrale

The Schweizer Baumuster-Centrale Z眉rich is the forum for knowledge and discussion for all those involved in the construction industry.
At regular events, innovative products, research work and relevant projects are used to highlight, discuss and develop the industry.

Material Connexion

Material Connexion is a database of more than 10,000 innovative materials and processes, presenting them through fact sheets with descriptions in English, images and manufacturers' contact details.

MATto

MATto is the Turin Polytechnic's material library that, together with the Turin Chamber of Commerce, provides manufacturing companies with consultancy services on materials and production processes to boost and support the innovation of industrial and craft enterprises.

Total Material
