The Department of Environment Constructions and Design promotes applied research and development activities in the fields of earth sciences, materials and construction, sustainability applied to the built environment, microbiology and design, capable of enhancing the transversality of competences and ensuring innovative support for partners at local, national and international levels.

Research is carried out in the fields of design, materials and construction, sustainability applied to the built environment, earth sciences and microbiology. It constitutes an essential aspect of the development of the Department, which through its activities establishes a fruitful exchange relationship with local bodies, organisations and companies, increases and deepens the scientific skills of its collaborators and offers students new opportunities for reflection.
