Biosafety and vector-borne infectious diseases consulting
We provide technical support and specific training concerning biosafety for the entire Cantonal territory (biological events, contaminated areas, epidemics, vector-borne pathogens, etc.).
The Biosafety Sector provides the Cantonal authorities with scientific expertise in the field of biosafety, in order to define and assess possible threats deriving from biological events (scenarios related to environmental contamination, accidents, terrorism, etc.) and to elaborate adequate standard operating procedures (protocols) to effectively address them.
We also provide scientific support to cantonal and federal authorities for the elaboration of strategies of management and containment of infectious diseases caused by vector-borne pathogens, as well as for the assessment and management of outbreaks and epidemics and their mitigation.
