U Change 2021-2024

SUSART rEVOLUTION is a project that explores the interaction between art, science and nature to promote sustainability through interdisciplinary approaches. The aim is to develop new perspectives to address environmental and social challenges, combining artistic and scientific practices that involve the body, expression and the community.
Through thematic workshops, participants 鈥 students from different disciplines and institutions 鈥 explore how movement and body awareness can become tools for better understanding our relationship with the environment. Each workshop addresses a specific theme: from the connection between body and nature, to creative expression, to the community dimension.
The project is not limited to an academic audience. SUSART also aims to make science and art accessible to a wider audience, promoting inclusion and awareness. During the workshops, participants develop creative, emotional and social skills, contributing to a model that can be replicated in broader educational settings.
SUSART is supported by the U Change programme and involves students from institutions such as the Accademia Teatro Dimitri, ETH Zurich, ZHdK, ZHAW, HKB and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The project will culminate in a public performance on 7 March in Zurich and a documentary that chronicles the entire process.

This seminar invites you to experience a collective, playful and ritual theatrical practice. Based on the concept and practice of 鈥淰ivir bien鈥.
We seek to awaken the physical performer and his technical emancipation, linking him to the ancestral traditions of the native peoples of South America.
For this purpose, the participants go through different traditional dances of the Altiplano of Bolivia: Pujllay, tinku, waka tokoris, zapateo potosino. Focusing on their expressive force and strong theatrical content.
鈥淎jayu鈥 in the Aymara language is interpreted as: soul, spirit, essence.
In the Andean cosmovision, the human being is composed of 7 ajayus. All of them are related to the integral development of our life and the environment we build every day: nature, community, family, work place, human relations, male and female lineages, etc.
The habitant of the Andes perceives himself in an integral way, he is connected with the mountains, the lakes, the wind, in this way he maintains a constant dialogue of reciprocity with his environment, understanding that this environment lives in him, therefore, the community always exists.
Against individualism and the perception of living better in Europe, this proposal proposes an alternative of self-perception, of life practice and of linking with the earth.
It is not a mystical, new age practice. It is a tangible theatrical practice, a fertile path for theatrical creation and human growth.

鈥嬧嬧嬧嬧嬧嬧婫IVE ME BAG is an art project, developed by and for students, that examines the way our society deals with clothing: the prevailing competitive and consumerist values, as well as the fast fashion industry and its consequences on the environment.
The project is a call to action for all students and fashion enthusiasts who wish to make a difference. The project explores the reality and challenges of sustainable textile production and how each person can contribute to a greener and fairer world.
The event itself aims to raise awareness and collect textile materials to create new works of art in the form of bags and backpacks. In this way, the slow fashion movement becomes a reality and also helps promote jobs for tailors and seamstresses, particularly in the home village in Spain of its creator, Marino Sampayo.

The project De-Construction is an art project that questions the fundamental principles of our society that clash with sustainability: the dominant values of competition and consumption and the general commercialisation of almost all areas of life.

With our means and our language (body, movement, puppets and objects), we want to create a play that on the one hand visualises the mechanisms of consumerism and on the other hand opposes them to an alternative logic, where producing, selling, buying and consuming are not the fundamental principles.
The exhibition aims to offer a shared collective experience, beyond the spectator as a passive consumer, contributing to a greater awareness of intangible goods and their importance for a more sustainable human future.
* The name De-Construction is the name of the entire project (research, investigation, creation); the name of the performance itself may vary depending on the artistic results.

The SDGs offer a comprehensive political formulation for global and complex problems, but remain inaccessible to many. With our project we give space to the question: to what extent can movement theatre be used to thematise the SDGs and motivate people to take active action? With our "SusArtLab@ATD" we want to give students the opportunity to become creative mediators of sustainability and promoters of Education for Sustainable Development. In our workshop, small performances and seeds of student projects are created and developed with guidance. A network of various actors integrates the results of our creative experiments into a broader social context and offers professional perspectives.

Same Ocean is an art project (short film) that addresses the problem of the overproduction and accumulation of plastic in rivers and oceans. The two clownish characters approach the problem from a naive and absurd point of view that opens up the issue from a sensitive and playful perspective. The project is intended as a contribution to education and awareness-raising on sustainable development.

Creative Plastic proposes the creation of design tools for young creatives and students through a collaborative production process that teaches them how to reuse plastic from disposable objects in a sustainable manner. The project aims to involve young students in educational and dissemination activities to make them participate in the process of recycling and putting plastic back into use in new objects; this is done through training workshops where they can gain first-hand experience of the recycling process.  The project envisages the mentoring of 精东影业's research institutions such as the FabLab, the Institute for Applied Sustainability in the Built Environment and the Design Institute; it also involves collaboration with civil society associations working on design and sustainability such as Bazaar al Lago, an association that promotes reuse in neighbourhood markets, and Tra(parentesi), an association that promotes creative approaches and points of contact between young people and professionals.
