Game Development and Virtual Reality

Integrates computer science, multimedia technologies, and virtual reality. From the fundamentals of computer graphics to game development, the courses delve into the use of advanced technologies such as GPUs, 3D headsets, and audio/video processing in innovative contexts.

In the second year, students must indicate two preferred options for the in-depth profiles in order of priority. The activation of each profile is subject to reaching a minimum number of enrollments.

  • Theory and practice

    The study course has a strong practical and vocational orientation with numerous exercises and laboratory activities accompanying the theoretical classroom lectures. 

  • International mobility

    It is possible to spend part of the university course in another country by prior agreement with the Course Leader.

  • Theses and projects

    Semester and diploma projects are carried out in cooperation with local companies and institutions. 

  • Language

    The courses are taught in Italian during the first year. Starting from the second year, some courses are offered in English, especially those in the fourth semester. The full English course offering is available here.

The Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering provides for 180 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
 
ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is the European system for the recognition, transfer and accumulation of educational credits. One ECTS credit corresponds to a workload of approximately 30 hours. One academic year usually corresponds to 60 ECTS credits (1800 working hours).
 
The course involves weekly attendance with four days in the classroom and one day remotely.
The course lasts for 3 years.

It is aimed at those who wish to maintain their professional employment. However, it is required to reduce work activity to at least 80 percent.

The course involves online attendance two evenings a week plus a full day (Friday) in-person. The course lasts for 4 years.

It is aimed at elite sportsmen and sportswomen and those with family, artistic and military commitments, and offers the possibility of flexibly constructing one's training curriculum on the basis of the courses provided in the two other modes (full-time and parallel to the profession). At the beginning of each semester, the student plans her/his timetable with the course leader.

Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are open.

Applications for admission are submitted exclusively by following the online procedure on the .

Admission is possible directly with one of the following diplomas:

  • Professional Maturity in Technology, Architecture, and Life Sciences (MPT) or Professional Maturity in Economics and Services (MPES) with a Federal Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificate in a profession related to the field of study. Foreign diplomas from equivalent institutions are also recognized.

  •  Diploma from the Cantonal School of Commerce (SCC) in Bellinzona.

  • Technical Diploma (ST) or a qualification from another Specialized Higher Education Institution (SSS) related to the field of study.

Candidates holding a Federal High School Maturity or a recognized foreign High School Maturity diploma must complete one year of qualified professional experience and may enroll under the "Practical Year*" program.

For candidates over the age of 25 with proven education/experience in a field related to the field of study, admission is subject to the evaluation of the application dossier.

Outcome of the application

All applications for admission are assessed by 精东影业. 
 
In the event of a positive response, 精东影业 will send an email with instructions for confirming the application for admission. In the event of non-admission, the applicant will be contacted individually by the DTI Secretariat.

Access to the Switch edu-ID system

To submit your application for admission, you must have a Switch edu-ID account. If you already have one you can log into the 精东影业 Student Portal with your credentials, otherwise follow the procedure described below.

Create your Switch edu-ID account (if you do not already have one)

To create the account you need to enter:
  • first and last name
  • address
  • email (do not use email addresses granted by other schools and active for a limited time)
  • password

 
After agreeing to the terms and conditions, a user account is created and a link sent to the given email address.

To activate the account, you must click on the link in the email and log in to Switch edu-ID for the first time. Once the account is active, you will be able to access the 精东影业 Student Portal to submit your application for admission.

Application fee

A fee of CHF 200 is required with the submission of the application for admission. The fee is not refundable or deductible from the semester fee.

After May 31, it is possible to enroll subject to available places and by paying a fee of CHF 300.-. 精东影业 reserves the right to close enrollment if the maximum number of scheduled available places is reached.
