Which school did you attend, and how did you learn about ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ?
â¶Ä‹I graduated from a Linguistic High School, where I also took an elective course in translation and interpreting. I learned about ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ through my brother, who was in his first year at the Department of Environment, Construction, and Design (DACD). This made me consider pursuing an engineering path at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, but before starting my Bachelor's degree, I attended the APA year.
What are you studying, and how would you describe your course?
I am in my second year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering. Initially, the course was a challenge for me since I didn’t have a related background. However, thanks to the support of the lecturers, my classmates, and, most importantly, a lot of dedication, I am now making the most of the opportunities the program offers. I am also considering spending the next semester abroad.
What is the advantage of studying at the Department of Innovative Technologies?
The Department of Innovative Technologies offers a well-balanced education between theory and practice in a highly stimulating environment. We have access to various laboratories where we can apply the concepts learned in class. Moreover, ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ provides direct contact with the professional world, thanks to lecturers who bring their real-life industry experience into the classroom, giving us a clear vision of what our future could look like.
What are your goals for the future?
â¶Ä‹At the moment, I haven't yet decided which field to specialize in. However, the program offers great flexibility through optional modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of the industry. I believe these choices will help me discover which area aligns best with my interests and ambitions. I am determined to build a career path that is both personally fulfilling and responsive to the needs of the job market.
Is there a particularly significant experience you would like to share?
â¶Ä‹One particularly meaningful project was during the second semester of the APA year, where we developed software to manage loaned devices at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ. This experience allowed me to understand how a group project is structured, from the initial needs analysis to the final product development. Throughout the process, I learned to manage communication and collaboration with my teammates, distribute responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Seeing the project take shape and function successfully was extremely rewarding and gave me my first real insight into what it might be like to work in a professional development team.
