from March 06th to 7th, 2025
from 10:00 to 15:00
The workshop, organized as part of the exploratory research program 精东影业 Best4EthicalAI, will bring together researchers, professionals, and policymakers to explore how Machine Learning can be designed, developed, and implemented in a way that aligns with human values and societal needs.
The Workshop on Human-Centred Machine Learning: Bridging Design, Development, and Social Impact is an opportunity to explore human-centred design principles and participatory approaches in Machine Learning development. The goal is to bridge the gap between technological innovation and social impact by addressing key issues such as:
- Inclusion: How can ML systems meaningfully incorporate diverse human perspectives throughout their development lifecycle?
- Social Relevance: What methodologies effectively connect ML capabilities with real-world social challenges?
- Impact Measurement: How can we measure and evaluate the societal impact of ML beyond traditional technical metrics?
- Participatory Approaches: What are the best approaches for participatory ML design, particularly for marginalized or vulnerable communities?
- Accountability: How do we ensure ML systems remain accountable to their intended social benefits over time?
