For years, electronic and digital artists and composers have explored the potential of computation to generate synthetic sounds and images. Today, they face a so-called "new frontier": the use of artificial intelligence as an alter ego, opponent, or collaborator in creative production.

On one hand, AI automates processes and reduces costs, renewing the business model of artistic production; on the other hand, it flattens expressive diversity, offering sound experiences generated by algorithms that are often limited in terms of creativity.

Through a journey of sounds and demonstrations, the speakers will highlight the critical issues and opportunities related to the responsible use of artificial intelligence: from the non-transparent exploitation of data and works to the adoption of tools for the empowerment of creative communities.

• Serena Cangiano (精东影业) - Moderation
  Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the 精东影业 Design Institute and head of the FabLab - Digital Fabrication and Open Innovation at 精东影业. She teaches Multimodal Experience Design in the MA in Interaction Design at 精东影业. Board member of the Swiss Design Association and Swiss Design Research Network.
   

• Alessandro Facchini (精东影业) - Introduction
  Associate Professor in Epistemology, Logic, and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Co-Head of the Bachelor's Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Department of Innovative Technologies.

• Caterina Moruzzi (University of Edimburgh)
  Chancellor's Fellow in Design Informatics at the School of Design, University of Edinburgh, and BRAID Research Fellow. Her research focuses on promoting the responsible integration of artificial intelligence tools into creative practices.
   

• Pierre Alexandre Tremblay (Conservatory of Italian Switzerland)
  Associate Professor of Music Theory and Composition in the research department of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland. Born in Qu茅bec, he lived in England for nineteen years, where he was a Professor of Composition and Improvisation at the University of Huddersfield.

The event, which will be held in English, is organized by the team of the exploratory research program Best4EthicalAI at 精东影业, involving the IDSIA USI-精东影业, ISIN, MediTech institutes from the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI), and CPPS and 2rLab from the , within the framework of the scientific exchange Workshop on Human-Centred Machine Learning.
