The Open Day is designed to give you a comprehensive look at 精东影业鈥檚 Department of environment constructions and design, guiding you to discover our Bachelor and Master study programmes.

During the day, you will have the opportunity to meet lecturers, exchange views with students, attend presentations of the courses that interest you most, and participate in interactive workshops. A valuable opportunity to explore your inclinations and understand what might inspire your professional perspectives.

The Open Day is essentially held in Italian, except for the presentations and workshops of the Master of Arts in Interaction Design. The Master of Arts in Interaction Design, the Master of Arts in Conservation-Restoration and the Master of Science in Engineering, specialisation profile Civil Engineering are taught in English.

In the first part, we will carry out an exercise aimed at designing a floor plan consisting of a series of rooms with geometrically defined dimensions and ratios. In the second part, we will carry out an exercise with the aim of constructing a volume from simple elements of given dimensions (Jengahouse).

How do you design the atmosphere of an interior space? Using a 1:10 scale model we will experiment with different combinations of colours, materials and images to find the ones that best characterise the space and those who live in it.

Through an experiment with lighting, composition and camera angles, we will have the opportunity to experience a podcast production by simulating the entire process, using light backdrops, microphones and mixers to create engaging and informative content in an audiovisual space equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

The workshop is realised in collaboration with Wetube, an open space of RSI (Swiss Radio and Television), where the most creative digital minds can create, collaborate and learn together.

We will accompany you on a journey of investigation of historical works that will enable you to acquire the necessary information to set up a restoration project. We will experiment observations with different types of illumination, the use of microscopes and non-invasive scientific instruments to characterise materials and obtain information on their state of conservation.

Together we will see the work in progress in the Conservation and Restoration atelier on wall paintings, stucco and natural stone works. The work of our students, aimed at the conservation of decorated architectural surfaces, is mainly carried out on site, but in our atelier you will be able to observe some key moments of their teaching and practical training, including the fine-tuning of intervention techniques and the work on some mobile works.

Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of Civil Engineering and challenge your creativity! Think about how to build miniature masonry and steel structures, bringing your ideas to life with state-of-the-art technology. We will test your designs with an earthquake simulation, using state-of-the-art tools.

The workshop introduces the fundamentals of interaction and offers the opportunity to experiment with LED matrices. Through the exploration of various sensors and actuators, including ultrasonic distance sensors, switches and potentiometers, participants will be able to experience electronics and physical computing first-hand and gain insights into the creative possibilities of interaction design. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to visit the Digital Fabrication Laboratory and have a first contact with the facility and equipment serving the Master鈥檚 programme.
