The CAS Person of trust addresses the training needs of this figure of reference.
Several directives from SECO (State Secretariat for Economic Affairs) describe and recommend that companies have a trusted person to ensure a healthy and respectful work environment.
This is a neutral and independent person to whom one can turn in case of conflict, discrimination, bullying, harassment or other issues that compromise well-being in the workplace. The person of trust is responsible for welcoming, counseling and orienting those who want an interview for conflict situations if they feel there is a violation of their personality. He or she acts as the first point of contact to whom employees can turn to reflect on the incident and decide how to deal with the problem, while ensuring strict confidentiality.
It is important that the trusted person, who may be internal to the company or external, has the necessary skills to carry out this task: manage the role of listening, analyzing the situation and accompanying people; possess good knowledge of individual interview techniques and basic mediation tools; and, at the same time, be familiar with the legal bases regarding the protection of employees, definitions of discrimination, bullying and harassment, as well as internal procedures for dealing with violations.
The CAS Person of Trust, which will begin in November 2025, responds to the training needs of this reference figure.
The training course, in addition to raising the awareness of the participating persons on the various issues inherent to the protection of the person of trust, will focus on the possibilities of intervention and appropriate measures to be implemented in work contexts, dwelling on the relevant legislative framework. The CAS is designed to help the participating persons acquire the necessary skills for managing communication and interviews within their tenure, as well as recognizing potentials and limitations of their own intervention.
