The Department of Innovative Technologies offers an orientation activity dedicated to students interested in the Bachelor鈥檚 degree program in Engineering and Management. The mini-tour takes place directly within the spaces where laboratory and educational activities are developed, following an immersive, hands-on approach.
A central element of the experience will be the visit to the Mini-Factory, an advanced production environment that perfectly embodies the integration between industrial technologies and process management. The Mini-Factory serves as a teaching and experimental platform designed to concretely introduce the fundamental concepts of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing.
Participants will have the possibility to:
- Receive an introduction to the Bachelor's degree program, directly within the laboratories;
- Explore the Mini-Factory, a cutting-edge IIoT production facility capable of managing customized orders alongside stock production, demonstrating high levels of flexibility, automation, and adaptability;
- Observe the interaction between hardware and software components such as vertical storage systems, Cartesian and SCARA robots, smart sensors, RFID systems, PLCs, additive manufacturing modules, vision systems, and HMI interfaces;
- Understand how these technologies are used to simulate and optimize real-world production and logistics processes, also through the use of digital twins and predictive models;
- Engage with professors, researchers, and the student community in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The tour may also include a visit to various campus facilities, such as the cafeteria, gym, common areas, and the academic services office.
