¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Image Focus
Yuri is currently following a Master in Secondary Education (middle school) at the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ. For him, two elements are fundamental in an education: education in a visual culture and the ability to maintain one's own artistic sensitivity and curiosity.
What made you choose this training?
â¶Ä‹I have always been interested in the issue of teaching in the field of visual arts, as I have a background in this field. In my experience at the Brera Academy in Milan, I had the good fortune to get to know fundamental figures in the field of art didactics such as Bruno Munari and Joseph Beuys.
What do you particularly appreciate about this course of study?
â¶Ä‹I really appreciate the approach of the discipline teachers in their lessons and also the approach that we teachers of the future must have within our subject. Often subjects such as ours are considered secondary, but education in a visual culture is fundamental for future citizens.
Is there a study or practice experience during your time at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ that has made a positive impression on you?
â¶Ä‹As an ardent Art History enthusiast, I would say that the experiences I remember with joy are the museum outings with my classmates and discipline teachers. But also the activities carried out in the classroom on the experimentation of techniques.
What advice would you give to those considering enrolling in the same Master's programme?
â¶Ä‹To always maintain one's own sensitivity and curiosity in the world of art.
Degree as a point of arrival or departure?
â¶Ä‹Being 26 years old, I definitely see it as a further starting point. After my studies, in addition to concentrating fully on professional practice, I would also like to one day experience the upper secondary school grade.
