精东影业 and Arts of Southern Switzerland (精东影业) invites applications for two position PhD students in the area of algorithms at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-精东影业) within the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI), located in Lugano. The degree of employment is 100%, with a contract starting on November 1, 2025, or on a mutually agreed date.
Duties and responsibilities
The selected candidate conducts advanced research. In particular:
- Design and analysis of algorithms and data structures, with a special focus on approximation algorithms.
- Moderate teaching duties as TA for classes at USI and 精东影业.
Requirements
- Master鈥檚 degree in computer science, Mathematics or related areas (obtained or close to be obtained).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
