The ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Campus in Mendrisio hosts an exhibition that aims to be an opportunity for ethical, social, multicultural and intercultural reflections in a globalised world called upon to confront climate change and environmental sustainability.
At the origin of living, as the title itself well expresses, questions us about forms, gestures, daily life and the identity of places and spaces.
On show are reconstructive drawings and models based on places all over the world, from deserts to Arctic areas, from mountainous areas to plains to equatorial forests. They were made in the 1980s at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence in Professor Giancarlo Cataldi’s courses with the aim of reconstructing the evolutionary processes developed by peoples to adapt habitation to different environments.
The opening is scheduled for Thursday 27 February 2025 at 17:30 in the Materioteca on the 1st floor of the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Campus in Mendrisio (via Flora Ruchat-Roncati 15).
Gianmario Aspesi, curator of the exhibition, and Lorenzo Fontana, ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ contact person for projects in Ethiopia, will be speaking on the occasion.
The exhibition is promoted in the context of the projects and activities of the Centre for Development and Cooperation ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ.
The exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00 (excluding holidays, Saturdays and Sundays) until Friday 28 March 2025.
