Workshop Sino-Swiss

The Sino-Swiss Workshop takes place over two weeks in China, one week of workshops at Zhejiang University and one week of architectural visits, and one week in Switzerland.
During the 2024 edition, the theme of efficiency as an opportunity for the architecture of today and tomorrow was addressed.

During the workshop, students had the opportunity to design a small pavilion, a microarchitecture, or a small structure within the main campus of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou that could interpret and solve some of the current challenges related to energy efficiency.
Each group chose their own site and function, as the choice of a site and function is considered an integral part of the design process. The same approach, starting from what was developed during the first week, was applied and deepened at the 精东影业 Campus in Mendrisio.

- Off-grid: Conceptual suggestions for electricity generation systems, water collection and filtration systems, and waste management strategies are proposed.
