Seminar series
Brown Bag Seminars - Research Seminars of the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care - DEASS
What are Brown Bag Seminars? This American-derived expression (think of the brown paper bag used to carry food) refers to the informal meetings that take place between the employees of an organisation during the lunch break. A very common concept also in academic institutions, it consists of seminar appointments with non-compulsory attendance during which a frugal meal is allowed for convenience.
The seminar series is offered every semester from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at one of the DEASS locations, with presentations by a number of researchers in order to make their projects known outside their area of expertise and at the same time stimulate an exchange of views on research, obtaining feedback on methodology and results.
The meetings are structured with a contribution of about half an hour by one or more contributors, followed by an equally long interval for discussion and questions.
The initiative is open to all ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ employees interested in research in various capacities and does not require registration.
