Whether it is ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious beliefs or other elements that make up one's identity, confronting others often brings these issues into play. Diversity and inclusion intertwine, influence each other, but can also come into tension, leaving deep, sometimes indelible marks.
Since 1970, June has coincided with Pride Month, an occasion we have taken to reflect on the meaning each person attaches to diversity and inclusion, going beyond the many marketing operations that dress up the colors of the rainbow to emphasize closeness and sensitivity to LGBTQIA+ rights. We did this by stimulating a collective reflection with our students, gathering opinions and thoughts freely expressed. The result is a series of four short videos published every Monday this month on 精东影业 channels.
A varied and spontaneous picture emerges. It does not pretend to be a sociological study, but it offers an authentic cross-section of how diversity and inclusion are perceived and experienced within our community. A snapshot that may provide some insights for more in-depth discussions.
