Educational project
Stage ad ARCO
The project is a collaboration between ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and the ARCO socio-therapeutic community for mutual learning. This internship allows male and female students to engage with the educational approach and collaborative practice.
During the internship, the student is asked to support the work done in the community, work alongside the professionals who work there bringing an occupational vision, oriented toward the recovery of autonomy in the activities of daily living and in workshop activities.
The internship experience at ARCO (12 weeks) allows for inclusion in an interprofessional team that is very well coordinated and attentive to the needs of the adolescents and their families. The partners' openness to the profession of occupational therapy allows interns to understand their own role and that of other professional(s), accompanying the development of a stable professional identity and a strong collaborative attitude.
During the internship, the student is involved in daily routines and a variety of workshops, thus being able to grasp the therapeutic potential of the activities and occupations offered to the children.
Nicole Scorti student of the Bachelor in Ergotherapy:
"The internship at Arco is a very intense and enriching educational experience in many ways. It is a real 'relational bath' that brings you face to face with different professional figures on a daily basis.
At Arco, you discuss extensively about each boy/girl in the community and exchange reflections, agree on interventions and share goals. It is a space where you can take advantage of grasping the different professional frames that guide each professional's clinical reasoning and understand how the occupational therapist's intervention might fit into the work of the team.
As a stager one is constantly involved in community activities and relationships, for example I participated in several workshops: the graphic-painting workshop, the "image" workshop, the "movement" workshop, archery, farm, vegetable garden and the cultural workshop. The internship in Arco allowed me to increase awareness and listening to my emotional experiences in relation to complex situations, recognize my communication styles, nonverbal language and train collaboration in an interprofessional team."â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹
