May 11th, 2025
from 10:00
Now in its 4th edition, the Sagra delle Erbacce is an initiative that originated from a project by a group of students from the Bachelor's program in Social Work. It was made possible thanks to the collaboration of various organizations, in particular the Meride Neighborhood Committee and the Meride Insieme Association.
The Sagra delle Erbacce 鈥 which for the fourth consecutive year will take place in Meride 鈥 will be held on Sunday, May 11, starting at 10:00 AM. The main goal is to engage participants in community activities that encourage rediscovery and exploration of the opportunities the local area has to offer. Specifically, the village of Meride will host guests in its public spaces, where various activities and events will be offered, including courtyard events, market stalls and workshops, cooking with wild herbs, a live music aperitif in the courtyard, as well as entertainment and activities for both children and adults.
The event will be preceded by the presentation of an interactive and dynamic mapping of the neighborhoods of the Montagna area, focusing on local neighborhood hubs, created by a group of students from the Bachelor Social Work. This presentation will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the 鈥淚l TAMBur鈥 hub in Tremona.
Why 鈥渨eeds鈥?
The choice of theme stems from the idea that weeds are all around us 鈥 uncultivated plants that grow spontaneously and whose properties we often overlook. Social changes often behave in the same way: they appear unexpectedly, claiming a space that belongs to them, and if we take a closer look, we discover that they hide fewer threats and offer more opportunities than we might think. The Social Work students actively participate in organizing this festival, sharing what they have learned throughout the earlier phases of the "Active Citizenship" module.
The festival flyer and the full programme are available alongside.
