Ruth Hersche was born in 1968 in Romanshorn (Switzerland) where she attended the obligatory and the higher schools.
In 1992 she graduated from the School of Occupational Therapy in Z眉rich. From 1992 to 2009 she attended specialization courses in neurorehabilitation. In 2010 she gained an MSc in Occupational Therapy. In 2021 she concluded her Ph.D.at the Department of Health Sciences and Medicine at the University of Lucerne.
From 1992 to 1993 she worked for the OTAF Institute (Lugano). From 1994 she was employed in a rehabilitation (Clinica Hildebrand, Brissago) and became head of the Department of Occupational Therapy from 1998 until 2004. In 2000 she opened her own OT studio applying rehabilitation, geriatrics and mental health treatments.In 2004 she became lecturer at the 精东影业/ Health Department teaching OT students. In 2013 she started to collaborate in different projects and since 2016 she is part of the Rehabilitation Research Lab 2rLab of the DEASS.
