At the heart of the project is the ability to integrate various aspects of airport operations into a single system based on Blockchain, a technology that allows information to be recorded securely, immutably and transparently, reducing the risk of fraud.
This includes, for example, certification on the blockchain of baggage boarding operations, security checks, check-ins, but also ticket sales through Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
Specifically, NFTs provide security and traceability, allowing proof of ownership and authenticity for each ticket. This eliminates the risk of buying fake tickets and provides the ability to resell or exchange one's tickets in a secure and transparent manner, opening the door to an unprecedented secondary market in the industry.
Another revolutionary aspect of Flymoov is the adoption of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) to identify all actors in the airport process. This technology, already implemented by several countries to create digital passports, is based on an autonomous digital identity system that allows users to maintain full control over their personal data. This approach enhances security, facilitates interoperability between different entities and significantly improves the user experience by making verification processes faster and more secure.
"The project seeks to transform air operations management with a significant impact on safety, efficiency and sustainability. The interoperability potential that Flymoov introduces represents a giant step forward toward a more connected and accessible aviation industry," emphasizes Giuliano Gremlich, ISIN Researcher.
In the coming months, a test phase will be launched, marking a significant first step toward practical adoption of the developed technology. In addition, Flymoov is working to integrate this solution into a broader initiative, demonstrating the project's potential for expansion and impact.
In this regard, Roberto Guidi, ISIN Lecturer-Researcher, also speaks out, highlighting that Flymoov is not limited to improving airline operations: "The platform aims to build an extended ecosystem that includes airports, stores and restaurants, through the concept of Fidelity Tokens. These blockchain-based tokens allow loyalty points to be used in a much larger circuit, increasing their value and utility for consumers."
With funding from the and a collaboration between ISIN and , Flymoov is positioning itself as an innovation pioneer in the airline industry, promising a more connected, secure and accessible future.
