The event entitled Reflections of glass: dialogue between actors and innovators in the glass industry (Riflessioni di vetro: dialogo tra attori e innovatori dell’industria vetraria), promoted by IN.TRA.MA, provides an opportunity to capture experiences, ideas, insights and trends in a sector that is evolving between experimentation, technology and craftsmanship, with a focus on Switzerland’s role as a crossroads between North and South, capable of absorbing and reinterpreting cultural influences.
Speakers at the event will include Rehub, an innovative studio that explores new techniques for reusing Murano glass through 3D printing; Giorgio Vigna, artist and member of the scientific committee of Le Stanze del Vetro in Venice; Roberto Gasparotto, head of research and development and art director of Venini; and Sybille Walther, researcher at the Vitromusée in Romont. Marzia Scalon, curator in charge of the Archivio generale del vetro at the Centro Studi del Vetro in Venice, will mediate the meeting.

The round table is public, in Italian and free of charge.
It will be held on Thursday 22 May 2025 at 18:00 at the Campus of the Department of Environment Constructions and Design ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ in Mendrisio on the central ramp.
An aperitif will be offered at 17:30.

  IN.TRA.MA

IN.TRA.MA (INcontri TRA MAterie) is a project promoted by the non-profit association traparentesi, in collaboration with the Department of Environment Constructions and Design ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and with the support of IKEA Foundation Switzerland.

Since 2021 IN.TRA.MA has offered meetings and experimental activities dedicated to a specific material each year. The 2024–2025 edition, made possible thanks to the support of Poretti Gaggini and Galvolux, is dedicated to glass in order to approach the discussion from different points of view, stimulating the participation of students and professionals, as well as those interested in materials, design and construction.
