The figure of the forensic nurse integrates forensic and nursing sciences. The purpose is to have the skills to effectively and appropriately approach, assess, and interact with those affected by physical, psychological, or social violence or trauma. This is a role that requires minimum standards in assessment, the retrieval of useful samples for forensic analysis and crime reporting, but also appropriate tools and methodologies aimed at the protection of the person affected as well as the management and processing of what is collected and detected for evidence collection purposes.
Who it is aimed at
The training is open to nurses and nurses with a university degree or equivalent diploma working in emergency rooms, gynecology, pediatrics and intensive care. Some modules will be made accessible to professionals from other fields: physicians, emergency responders, psychologists, and lawyers.
