Antonella Galgano, a language and integration teacher, participated in the CAS Interculturalità e plurilinguismo nella scuola. A valuable experience to deepen professional knowledge and to establish collaborations and exchanges with other colleagues.
Why did you choose the CAS Interculturalità e plurilinguismo nella scuola?
â¶Ä‹I have always been interested in the brain development mechanisms of the child who has 'the greatest mind that ever existed, the most powerful learning machine in the universe'. I strongly perceive this capacity in children who are learning L2 despite objective limitations and difficulties. I chose this course to expand my theoretical and methodological knowledge to support my work with children with a migration background.
Can you describe the main contributions to your professional activity?
â¶Ä‹Professionally, I have often faced social and cultural changes that have had a positive impact on my work. CAS has provided me with useful tools to deal with daily challenges and has given me a more comprehensive view of aspects of reception and integration. I have also had the opportunity to explore issues related to language development from a scientific and pedagogical point of view.
What other added value did you experience thanks to the course?
â¶Ä‹Every job needs social contacts in order to be creative and effective, this applies even more to the work of the teacher. It is precisely the comparison and exchange of experiences that make the birth of new ideas possible. The CAS provided me with the opportunity to share experiences and strategies of didactic-educational intervention with colleagues from different realities.
