Born and raised in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Married with two daughters.
Honours BA in Community Health from Brock University (2003); Master of Science (2015) and Doctorate (2011) in Public Health (with a specialisation in Social Sciences and Gerontology) from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Thesis title: 鈥淕ender, the State, and a Lifetime of Experience: Understanding Health Inequality among Older Adults in Britain鈥�. Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (2015) from King鈥檚 College London.
Lecturer, then Senior Lecturer, in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine and Institute of Gerontology at King鈥檚 College London (2013-2019).
