Carol Taddei, who obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy in 2019, chose to study at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ after an observational internship in the rehabilitation field. In this testimony she talks about her years at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and how the theoretical and practical training was fundamental for her professional integration.
What is your current occupation?
I currently work as a physiotherapist in a private practice in Bellinzona where we deal with a wide range of patients, from orthopaedics to neurorehabilitation and the treatment of chronic and chronic degenerative diseases. In particular, having attended several continuing education courses in neurorehabilitation, I deal with people with neurological problems.
Why did you choose to study at university? And why, in particular, the Bachelor in Physiotherapy at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ?
â¶Ä‹Following an observational internship several years ago, I realized that physiotherapy was the right path for me. I chose the Bachelor in Physiotherapy at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ because it offers a rich and varied study program, which allows you to immediately come into contact with the various fields of application of the profession thanks to the different internships offered during the course. Furthermore, studying at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ allowed me to stay in Ticino while doing a Bachelor's degree in my mother tongue.
What elements of the training stood out the most for you? And which aspects were most useful for your profession?
â¶Ä‹I really appreciated the training at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, both in relation to the specific lessons and the practical sessions, and also for the interprofessional aspect that allows you to attend lessons with students from the Bachelor's degrees in Nursing and Occupational Therapy.
Being a very practice-oriented education, almost all the aspects addressed during my years of study have been useful for my profession. In addition to the technical skills that can be developed through practice and internships in the area and abroad, I found the more theoretical contributions related to the development of communication and interpersonal skills in contact with the patient to be very valuable.
Thanks to the solidity of the theoretical and practical contributions, the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ training allows you to
immediately acquire excellent autonomy in professional practice, providing the necessary tools to be able to subsequently attend continuing education courses in the various areas of interest, in order to always remain up to date.
What advice would you give to those who want to follow your path / your profession?
â¶Ä‹I would recommend the Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy because it is an extremely interesting and stimulating course of study. The training allows you to understand the various facets of the profession, while at the same time allowing you to evaluate the area of work that best suits your interests. Like all university courses, it is necessary to commit to studying, taking advantage of all the opportunities that arise during the course. Personally, I have fond memories of one of the internships I did abroad, a wonderful memory and a great life experience.
