Ӱҵ PVLab – based at the Department of environment constructions and design Ӱҵ in Mendrisio – is the only Swiss laboratory accredited to ISO 17025 for testing photovoltaic modules and operates within the Institute of Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment (ISAAC).
Once again this year it is offering its Industry Day.
The future of solar energy relies on its ability to deliver consistent, high-quality performance across diverse environments and ever-changing demands. As the push toward net-zero carbon emissions accelerates, ensuring precise and dependable photovoltaic systems is not just an aspiration but a necessity.
This year’s Industry Day, themed Achieving Accuracy and Reliability Everywhere, invites to explore how precision-engineered photovoltaic solutions can redefine energy production around the globe.
In 2025, our focus turns to the very core of photovoltaic performance, prioritising the testing of panels that not only endure decades of use but consistently operate at peak efficiency. Quality spans the entire lifecycle: from material innovation and rigorous testing to system design and in-field operation. ‘Everywhere’ goes beyond geography, encompassing every scenario, harsh climates, dense cities, or remote areas, all while upholding the highest standards.
The Industry Day programme is designed to explore every aspect of photovoltaic excellence and is divided into four dynamic sessions:
- Characterization, where we delve into precision measurements and advanced testing
- Reliability, focused on the durability and consistent performance of PV systems
- Alpine PV, highlighting unique challenges and breakthroughs in high-altitude environments
- PV Everywhere, examining the adaptability and integration of photovoltaics across diverse settings.
In addition to the sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge innovations with a guided tour of the PVLab, focusing on advanced testing technologies, as well as interactive stands that showcase the latest advancements in photovoltaic systems.
