Prof. St茅phane Meystre has a medical background, with a degree from the University of Lausanne. His further specialisation in Biomedical Informatics includes a Master's degree from the University of California and a PhD from the University of Utah.
Throughout his career, he played a leading role in Health Informatics at Lausanne (CHUV), leading the development of an information system for oncology research. Later, he was Professor of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah and at the Medical University of South Carolina.
In the US, the Professor has built a significant research career, leading projects focused on the extraction and use of clinical data for research, clinical care, decision support, and patient data privacy protection. In 2022, he returned to Europe as Scientific Director for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the OnePlanet Research Center in the Netherlands.
Prof. Meystre is also known for his work in the field of technology transfer and commercialisation of new technologies. Indeed, he was the founder and Director until 2022 of Clinacuity Inc., a start-up dedicated to the development of commercial products based on his research.
St茅phane Meystre will assume the role of MeDiTech Director as of 1st October 2023, with a four-year term of office.
