Health of water bodies in the Ticino Alps: investigations and expertise in environmental microbiology
Assessment of the quality of natural environments (biodiversity, biogeochemical cycles and abiotic values) as an indicator of aquatic ecosystem health (one health).
In addition, for more than 30 years we have been conducting regular monitoring campaigns (sampling and physico-chemical-microbiological analyses) on bodies of water in the Alpine region, with a particular focus on the meromictic lake of Cadagno, and the Piora valley in general.
