Linda Caverzaghi is an architect working both as a freelancer and with a third-party firm. Trained at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, she strongly believes in continuous training, a fundamental tool for growth in an ever-changing sector.
Who is Linda Caverzaghi?
â¶Ä‹I am a 36-year-old architect: I feel young and dynamic and I wish my biography said another number (30 would be better)! I practise sport regularly, which is an important outlet for stress, I am a positive person who tries to approach life with enthusiasm and never backs down... but I often forget that I only have two hands!
What was your educational and professional background?
â¶Ä‹After high school, I studied at the Academy in Mendrisio, where I graduated in 2011. Already during my studies I did an internship and collaborated within various studios, and since then I’ve never stopped working! Since 2019, I’ve been mainly working in a private studio although I still carry out some activities in the field of planning as a freelancer.
University: a final destination?
â¶Ä‹By nature, I am always looking for new stimuli: the idea of stopping, of giving up on change and being content, frightens me. After I started working, I realised that university was only the first step of an learning path that would never end. The world of construction and architecture is infinite, has a thousand facets and is constantly evolving: this is perhaps the most beautiful but also the most challenging aspect of the work I love. So, since 2012 I’ve started to invest in my continuing education: I have attended more than a dozen courses at organisations and training institutions in the sector; the last one in chronological order is the CAS Property Renovation and Investment at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ.
How do you reconcile professional and private life with education?
â¶Ä‹There are times when I find it difficult to manage my dual role, as an employee and as a freelancer, with my private life: I wish the days were 30 hours long and the weeks had 9 days in order to get everything done and done well. The reality is unfortunately different and, I believe, like everyone, I try to manage every unplanned short or long-term event that arises, always reorganising myself and not always, unfortunately, succeeding.
Thinking about education, the pandemic has generated a positive change: I can only appreciate the increase in distance learning and the flexibility that these teaching methods allow.
Future projects?
â¶Ä‹To be happy and satisfied with what I do, on every front. My profession is the best choice I could have made in my life. I will pursue continuous training, which is the lifeblood of my mind and my profession. I also hope to find a better work-life balance, so that I can cultivate more and devote the right time to other activities and especially to friends, relatives and the desire for a family.
