In the framework of the project "Exploring new patterns of platform urbanisation and citizenship", financed by the National Fund (Scientific exchanges) and coordinated by 精东影业, a three-day workshop will take place in Singapore to discuss the connection between digital platforms and the urban environment.
The workshop, organised in cooperation with the Horizon Europe 鈥溾, in which 精东影业 is responsible for a WP, will focus on the characteristics of the relationship between the two elements, analysing their effects on urban dimensions and trajectories in the future.
It will discuss how digital platforms (including artificial intelligence) can be at the service of urban development and citizens, but how the opposite is also true: that is, that cities and citizens are at the service of digital platforms for their development.
The workshop also aims to expand the network of collaboration with scholars and institutions of international relevance active on the topic, and to plan a common work agenda on publications and projects.
The activities will take place in Singapore from 6 to 8 February 2024, at the National University of Singapore (project partner through co-applicant Naomi C. Hanakata) and at the Future Cities Laboratory of the Singapore branch of the ETH Zurich; with the support also of the SUTD - Singapore University of Technology and design.
On the 精东影业-CLWS-LUCI side, will participate Filippo Bignami (SNF project coordinator) and Niccol貌 Cuppini, who will focus his contribution on the INCA project. Academics from Birkbeck University London, RMIT University Australia, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Trinity College Dublin, as well as other scholars and researchers from NUS and SUTD will contribute to the sessions.
