Career Path Description
During my studies, I have always considered it essential to combine theory with practice. For this reason, alongside my university education, I took my first steps into the professional world by working at a small consulting firm in Lugano. Later, in search of a more stimulating and international environment, I decided to join the Digital Innovation team at PwC in Milan.
These initial experiences allowed me to deepen my understanding of topics I had previously studied only from a theoretical perspective, such as digital innovation and open innovation. They gave me the opportunity to apply these concepts in a corporate setting and to fully grasp their practical and strategic impact on business.
These early experiences served as a true springboard, enabling me, after graduation, to enter a field that has always fascinated me: the banking sector. In early January, I relocated to Zurich, where I now work at UBS in the Technology Services team, with a specific focus on Mainframe and Midrange Services, managing technology transformation projects.

Current Role and Responsabilities
The Technology Services team oversees all back-office IT operations for UBS. Specifically, my team specializes in managing IT projects focused on digital transformation, with a particular emphasis on Mainframe and Midrange system services. As part of an international group of over 500 professionals across seven countries, my role involves coordinating the team's various activities, ensuring optimal alignment both operationally and strategically. I manage a range of technology transformation projects, from optimizing the team's internal processes to integration activities with Credit Suisse and special projects, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of our global operations.
Acquired skills and knowledge
In my case, the master's program was much more than just a theoretical enrichment; it was a turning point in my personal growth. Through various presentations and group projects, it helped me overcome my initial discomfort and pushed me beyond my limits. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I was able to challenge myself without fear and cultivate a constant drive for self-improvement.
Project Experiences with Companies
Among all the collaboration experiences with local businesses, no single project stands out above the others. Each initiative significantly contributes to professional growth, ranging from projects designed for emerging startups to more complex and structured ones tailored for SMEs. Every project offers unique opportunities, adapting to the specific needs and scale of the companies involved, while fostering continuous development. Moreover, these experiences allow students to explore and understand which business environment aligns best with their aspirations, helping them identify the type of company where they envision building their professional future.
Advice for Future Students
My advice is to approach the master's program with curiosity and without fear of stepping out of your comfort zone, seizing every opportunity that comes your way, both within and beyond the university. Make the most of the resources, people, and experts who will enrich your academic journey, as every encounter and experience is a chance for growth.
