FAQs List

These are short-term training courses that meet specific needs for further education. In some cases, it is possible to obtain up to 9 ECTS credits, which are recognised in Advanced Studies courses. Short-term continuing education is divided into micro-certificates, which award between 4 and 9 ECTS credits, and other short-term courses, which include refresher courses, preparation for federal professional examinations, summer/winter schools, study trips and experiential courses.

¾«¶«Ó°Òµ designs and implements tailor-made training programmes with the client on the basis of his or her actual needs.
This service is geared towards public and private organisations, with the aim of combining the organisation's needs and strategic objectives with the professional and personal development of the individual.
Customised training courses can be:

  1. structured courses for employees, team, production and project managers;
  2. strategic consultancy for senior managers;
  3. individual coaching paths for executives with managerial functions.

The difference between certificates of advanced studies lies in their minimum duration and thus in the number of ECTS awarded:

  • Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), minimum duration of 10 ECTS.
  • Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS), minimum duration of 30 ECTS;
  • Master of Advanced Studies (MAS), minimum duration of 60 ECTS.

The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) is a continuing education course, the Master's degree refers more generally to basic training.

The MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) and the EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) are further education diplomas awarded by universities of applied sciences. Unlike the MAS, the EMBA can only be obtained in the field of economics. The EMBA programme is based on a common international standard. The MBA (Master of Business Administration) is a degree awarded in basic university education.

Continuing education is aimed at an audience that already has a university education and an established occupation.
Continuing education studies establish a direct link between the learning offered and the professional practice of the participants through the choice of topics, professional input, discussions, case studies and projects. The focus is on strengthening problem-solving skills, which are exercised in practical tasks and with concrete reference to the topics of the field of work.

Long-term Continuing Education is defined as all courses that award a minimum of 10 ECTS. Short Continuing Education refers to all courses that grant between 1 and 9 ECTS. As a rule, it consists of modules of 12, 16 or 24 lecture-hours. In some cases it may be up to 80-100 lecture hours.

Through the practical and scientific reflections offered in the continuing education courses, participants develop their awareness and responsibility towards the environment, society, culture and the economy. This vision enables participants to integrate into their daily practice the analysis of the impact that their choices, actions and management methods can have on the protection and enhancement of the environment. They thus become aware of their active role in pushing and leading change to build a more equitable and cohesive society based on ethics, trust, sustainable use of resources and respect for the environment.

The quality of the training offer is ensured by the application of the quality management system for continuing training (SGFC), which ensures the monitoring and continuous improvement of the quality of courses and their management, considering in particular the impact it generates on its stakeholders. This quality management system considers five macro-dimensions, which are strategy, product, course participants, employees and stakeholders.
For each of the five dimensions, the most significant elements and components have been identified on which to apply predefined management policies and to which to look for the smooth functioning of the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ university FC system.

We consistently apply quality standards and procedures throughout the Continuing Training programme management system. We adopt a continuous improvement approach to promote an internal quality culture in which stakeholders and employers also participate.

Continuing Education applies knowledge from applied research projects in-house or from other peer institutions and organisations, oriented towards the development and innovation of learning styles and models in continuing education.
It values practical knowledge and scientific knowledge as equals, even if different, and strives to put scientific knowledge and scientific procedures on the one hand, and the deepening of practical knowledge and knowledge on the other, at the service of the practical development of the professionals and managers who are trained by us.

The application of scientific and research reference to the practical knowledge and experience brought by course participants enables them to acquire qualified and reflective management practice in their work.

Continuing Education considers the participants' experience as an essential part of the learning process, both individual and collective, and of the development of the institution's offer, making the continuous exchange of knowledge that takes place in the classroom one of its strong points.

Viene favorita l'inclusività nella formazione continua, promuovendo una forte permeabilità del sistema ampliando gli accessi ai corsi nel rispetto delle competenze ed esperienze acquisite dai partecipanti e della garanzia della qualità.

Continuing education exploits synergies with research to further qualify participants in continuing education. The experience and wealth of knowledge accumulated thanks to the results of applied research are the guarantors of the quality of university continuing education and its constant scientific and didactic updating.

Sustainability is one of the guiding principles of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Continuing Education.  The principles of sustainability (environmental, social, economic and cultural) are promoted in the training programmes, all of which are geared to fostering an approach to management characterised by a culture of responsible leadership, management and participation.
