The Ceremony opened with the welcome greetings of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ General Director Franco Gervasoni, who emphasised the commitment shown by all the students in order to achieve such an important goal, which is the result not only of dedication and study, but also of the relationships and ties established during the course of training. The Director also emphasised ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ's close collaboration with the various professional organisations that welcome students during their internships, strengthening the University's practical profile.
Following this, DEASS Director Luca Crivelli emphasised the importance of joint and collective action, the ability to cooperate, both within universities and in society at large. He described learning as an extraordinary journey involving not only students, but an entire ‘village’ made up of lecturers, assistants, administrative staff and other key figures. However, this ability to collaborate, which is crucial for progress, does not diminish the value of the talent, skills and uniqueness of each and every student.
The opening speeches ended with a message from the DEASS Manager of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies Anna Piccaluga-Piatti, who congratulated all the graduates on their achievement, a moment to be etched in the memory of so many girls and boys, and all those who supported them on this long and exciting journey of study. The Head of Training also highlighted the choice made by so many students to train in areas where human relations are fundamental and the role they will go on to play in different professional contexts and in society.
The Ceremony continued with the awarding of diplomas to 318 students who completed the various Bachelor and Master courses offered by DEASS: Bachelor Leisure Management (28 graduates), Bachelor Business Administration (61), Bachelor Social Work (66), Bachelor Nursing (94), Bachelor Ergotherapy (21), Bachelor Physiotherapy (30) and Master in Business Administration (18).
The Ceremony ended with the awarding of prizes to the best students in the Bachelor's programme (TalenThesis) and the Master's programme in Business Administration (Fondazione Agire Award), thanks to the support of various local organisations and companies, symbolising the close link that exists between ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and the professional realities that welcome boys and girls at the end of their studies.
The TalenThesis award, created in 2011, is supported by four local institutions and companies: Associazione Industrie Ticinesi, Banca dello Stato del Cantone Ticino, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale and Società svizzera impresari costruttori - Sezione Ticino. On their behalf, Glauco Martinetti, EOC General Director, awarded the first TalenThesis to the following graduates:
- Deborah Scanzio: Bachelor Leisure Management
- Elisa Turati: Bachelor Economia aziendale
- Anna Mirella Ardid Ciscar: Bachelor Lavoro sociale
- Alessia Castelli: Bachelor Cure infermieristiche
- Alessia Albertoni: Bachelor Ergoterapia
- Alice Celio: Bachelor Fisioterapia
The Fondazione Agire Award, awarded since 2016 to students of the Master in Business Administration programme who have particularly distinguished themselves during their studies, was presented by Foundation Director Lorenzo Ambrosini to student Giulia Dell'Acqua.
Added to the total number of DEASS graduates are the 47 diplomas awarded in 2024 by the Bachelor in Physiotherapie students at the Landquart location.
Congratulations to all DEASS graduates on this important milestone and best wishes for a rewarding personal and professional future!
