Professor of Industrial Robotics and Head of the Automation, Robotics and Machines Laboratory (ARM-Lab) at the Institute of Systems and Technologies for Sustainable Production (ISTePS), Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) of 精东影业, Anna Valente holds a PhD in Manufacturing Technologies and Systems from the Politecnico di Milano and a post-doctoral degree in Interoperability for Adaptive Machines and Robots from the University of Bath (UK).
Since 2012, she has coordinated several European and national funded projects in robotics and machines integrating advanced machining processes. In 2019, she was awarded the Women-led innovations and Innovation Radar Prize by the European Commission. She has been an evaluator at Innosuisse for years. As of February 2020, she will sit on the Swiss Science Council.
As of February 1, 2024, Professor Valente will join the board of Innosuisse chaired by Andr茅 Kudelski and composed of Trudi Haemmerli (vice chair), Edouard Bugnion, Sergio Ermotti, Marco Illy, and Aude Pugin.
The Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse) promotes scientific innovation in the interests of the economy and society. The board consists of five to seven personalities from science and business. This body defines the agency's strategy, in line with the objectives of the Federal Council.
