¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Image Focus
Annette is Head of Nursing at the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC); ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ's training in healthcare management enables the organisation's managers to acquire solid skills in the fields of personnel management and leadership.
Why it is important for those performing the function of management cadre within the EOC to attend training in healthcare management?
â¶Ä‹Leading and managing people nowadays presents a very important and complex task that strongly affects the performance of employees. In healthcare, we must remember that care is directed towards patients, people who, at a time of fragility, are highly dependent on their carers. These elements therefore lead us to reflect on the competencies that a management cadre, a leader, must possess. The field of personnel management requires solid theoretical knowledge that stimulates reflection and the development of transparent and competent leadership. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ's training in healthcare management provides our management cadres with an important foundation on which they can then build in practice and reflect on their own leadership development.
What need for professional development does the DAS in Healthcare Management meet?
â¶Ä‹Personnel management requires constant updating and adaptation. It is a real challenge to manage several generations of employees and to keep up to date with the legal framework. In recent years, the expectations of employees towards their superior have changed and I would almost dare to say increased. At the EOC we need contemporary managers who are ready to reflect on their actions and take responsibility for them. To facilitate this, we appreciate the support provided by ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ with this training.
What benefits do you see in the facilities and departments of the EOC after training professionals with healthcare management skills?
â¶Ä‹The employee who begins their journey in personnel management very often asks us on their own initiative for training that provides tools to deal with their role. Indeed, we observe that in everyday work there is a lack of time for more careful and controlled reflection on certain processes or measures. Training at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ allows one to acquire practical tools; the exchange with colleagues in the same function also stimulates reflection and personal growth.
