from 20:30
During the "Cross Media" module, the students (future visual communicators) designed a series of moving images to stage a multidisciplinary and experimental project in collaboration with the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, exploring the relationship between sound and image through visual storytelling techniques.
They translated the piece Galileo鈥檚 Journey by composer Ivan Fedele (1953) into a visual dimension (an operation also foreseen in the original score) to create a poetic atmosphere in the Auditorio Stelio Molo of the RSI-Radiotelevisione Svizzera.
The students immersed themselves in the music and its evocative imagery by delving into the study of the planets and the cosmos referenced in the work, then experimenting with different visual languages capable of conveying the poetry of the journey expressed through music. Through video, generative graphics, and projections, they worked not only on creating moving images but also on scenographic design and lighting studies, thus enriching the live experience and giving special attention to creating evocative atmospheres that are consistent with the narrative and sonic dramaturgy. During the course, taught by Andreas Gysin and Sidi Vanetti, they had the opportunity to attend listening sessions with music experts who provided critical tools to broaden their knowledge.
The event is open to all interested individuals. It will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 8:30 PM at the Auditorio Stelio Molo in Lugano.
