2024 - DACD
¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Image Focus
The fourth edition of the ‘Earth Emergency’ public lecture series allows us to question, together, the impact of climate change and its possible solutions thanks to the participation of illustrious guests who, under the banner of multidisciplinarity, move in various fields, between the dimensions of scientific research and the arts.
Although climate change is a global phenomenon, its effects fall differentially on the continents of planet Earth and, consequently, on ecosystems and human societies. By affecting differences and imbalances that are sometimes already dramatically wide, climate change can exacerbate existing criticalities or generate new ones. Thus, an increasingly complex space is gradually being created, on a global and regional-local scale, crossed by forms of competition and conflict between living species or human communities. Conflicts (in the plural) that may be interconnected or independent, potential or already in place, recognisable or as yet unnamed.
The 2024 edition of Earth Emergency (Emergenza Terra), entitled Climate and conflicts, is promoted by the Department of environment constructions and design ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ. It is divided into five conferences that seek to bring to light the transformations taking place and those that could take place.
The guests and hosts of Earth Emergency move between the dimensions of scientific research and the arts.
Guests: Andrea Rinaldo, Grammenos Mastrojeni, Paola Imperatore, Marco Poloni, Luca Mercalli, Ferruccio Cainero, Pierluigi Ferrari, Refik Anadol and Gaia Vince.

The graphic design
Earth Emergency is, every year, a testing ground for the students of the first year of the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ. It is a valuable opportunity for budding graphic designers to elaborate the visual concept of the lecture series, which is then refined and declined on the various communication products. For the 2024 edition, the project is a reinterpretation of the Dymaxion-map by the inventor, architect, designer and philosopher Richard Buckminster Fuller, which allows us to understand global ecological, economic and geopolitical phenomena by imagining the whole Earth as a single island. The project was developed by student Maria Juliana Paredes Leoni and student Piero Zanetti.
Bobbium
Bobbium is a reality that developed from a farm in the heart of the Piacenza hills, with the aim of turning climate change into an opportunity.
