Jovista is a Master of Science in Engineering student with a profile in Business Engineering. With an interdisciplinary focus on strategy and analysis, she is preparing herself for future professional challenges.
What do you study at the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) and how would you describe your programme?
鈥嬧赌�After my Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Management, I am currently attending the Master of Science in Engineering, with a specialisation profile in Business Engineering.
The three adjectives that best describe my path are:
- Strategic because it focuses on the formulation and implementation of effective business strategies that prepare students to make crucial decisions and develop problem solving skills for business success.
- Analytical in that it provides a solid analytical foundation through the use of data and models, helping to develop advanced skills in analysing complex business problems.
- Last but not least, interdisciplinary in that it combines engineering skills with business knowledge, providing a broad and in-depth perspective to address complex business challenges across a variety of disciplines.
What is the strongpoint of your course?
鈥嬧赌�An education at the Department of Innovative Technologies offers significant advantages, including being part of a welcoming environment with small class sizes that facilitate the integration of students, as well as direct communication with the teaching staff. Studying at the DTI also facilitates the practical application through laboratory activities and the possibility of doing thesis in the company. In summary, the DTI is a valuable investment for the future, thanks to its distinctive environment and the possibility of applying acquired skills, giving a significant professional advantage.
What are your goals for the future?
鈥嬧赌�I am currently a research assistant at the Institute of Systems and Technologies for Sustainable Production (ISTePS) at the DTI, actively participating in research projects at national and international level. My main goal is to continue to grow in this field, as it offers the opportunity to tackle different challenges and tasks, allowing me to expand my knowledge and skills in multiple directions.
Is there a particularly significant experience you would like to tell us about?
鈥嬧赌�A significant experience was the thesis in a company that allowed me to concretely put into practice the notions acquired during my years of study. I also consider it a method of 'self-evaluation' because it allows you to understand how much has been learnt and how well prepared you are to face the world of work.
