Development of intelligent automated systems that incorporate i4.0 principles of modularity and flexibility
Intelligent Automation Development is a service offered by the Sustainable Production Systems Lab of Institute ISTePS to help manufacturing companies develop new automation modules or adapt existing ones with the aim of incorporating the i4.0 principles of digital transformation throughout the production department.
Development typically starts with a field assessment of the production process, possibly including a discrete-event simulation, with the aim of identifying the elements that require the greatest improvements in terms of impact on the overall production process.
Once the objectives have been identified, we move on to development involving the integration of:
new sensors and actuators together with their control units and their integration into the overall control and supervision logic of the factory;
in-line quality control systems customised robot/robot applications and mobile intra-logistics solutions, etc.
