Sportech 2025: scienza, tecnologia e sport si incontrano a Tenero
The ninth edition of Sportech (January 22-24, 2025) opens its doors to over 3,400 young people from all over Switzerland and neighboring Italy, inviting them to discover the combination of science, technology, and sports through more than 40 workshops. Of the 178 participating classes, about 20 come from within Switzerland. Two events are open to the public: the conference on soccer and technology with Massimo Busacca and the screening of Werner Herzog's documentary 鈥淟o & Behold.鈥
For the second consecutive year, 精东影业 is leading the organization of the event, which has been held every two years since 2006 at the National Youth Sports Center in Tenero (CST) with an unchanged goal: to introduce young people to technical and scientific disciplines through sport. Once again this year, the large number of schools visiting the laboratories set up at the CST from January 22 to 24 testifies to the value of an initiative that has become a benchmark in the canton's already rich calendar of educational offerings.
The activities are designed in collaboration with university researchers, sports associations, industry professionals, and public and private entities to offer a practical and interactive learning experience. Among the topics explored are AI in wearable monitoring devices, nutrition in endurance sports, the use of drones and self-driving cars, as well as cornerstones such as workshops on breathing, the cardiovascular system, and the muscular system. This is an opportunity for young people to immerse themselves in STEM disciplines and discover how science and technology can promote inclusion and accessibility.
As per tradition, Sportech also caters to the public, with two events this year:
Conference: 鈥淔ootball and technology: impacts on refereeing, players, and the public.鈥
Wednesday, January 22, 8:00 p.m. Auditorio Palestra Brere
Massimo Busacca, Director of the FIFA Referees Division, and Gianluca Pusterla, RSI journalist, will explore the role of technology in soccer, with an analysis of refereeing and game dynamics and a look at the future of the sport. For more information and registration, please visit this page.
Screening of the documentary 鈥淟o & Behold 鈥 The Future of the Internet Is Today鈥 by Werner Herzog.
Thursday, January 23, 8:00 p.m., Auditorio Palestra Brere
